Kate Qualified as a Lawyer in 2002 and since qualifying has specialised in Will drafting, Probate and Estate Administration, Estate Planning, Trusts, Powers of Attorney and Deputyship Applications through the Court of Protection.  Kate has a wealth of experience in these areas and is extremely proud of the successful practice that she has grown and developed, serving her clients’ needs.

She enjoys working closely with clients and their families to help them plan for their future in order to help them protect their property and assets ensuring that their friends, family and loved ones are looked after and financially secure should something happen to them.  She adopts a sympathetic yet professional and practical approach with her clients at what can be a very emotionally difficult time.

In her spare time Kate rides and regularly competes her dressage horse and loves walking with her two Labradores Lexi and Tiggy who regularly frequent the office to greet clients.

Emma joined A A Holmes in 2021 as a director and is a member of the Institute of Professional Will Writers.

Emma provides professional bespoke advice on Wills, Trusts, Inheritance Tax and Lasting Powers of Attorney for both Finance and Health & Care. She is passionate about providing a quality service to all clients.

Emma spends the majority of her free time supporting her local community in her role as a District and County Councillor.

Alex is a trainee solicitor, having joined the firm in 2024. She holds a Law degree and a Masters of Law, and has successfully completed her Legal Practice Course.

Since joining the firm, Alex has gained hands-on experience supporting fee earners across a range of matters, developing strong practical and legal skills. Alex primarily works within the firms’ probate department where she deals with the administration of estates and supports clients throughout what can be a difficult and emotional time. She is currently completing her training contract and is working towards qualifying as a solicitor.

Alex is committed to providing a professional, approachable, and client-focused service, and takes pride in assisting clients with clear and practical legal advice.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time with friends and family and likes travelling to new and different holiday destinations whenever she gets the opportunity.

Karen joined the firm in 2025. She is always on hand to meet and greet our clients whether face to face or on the telephone. Karen also provides vital secretarial support to the firms fee earners. She will direct you to the relevant department or assist you with your enquiries. In her spare time Karen enjoys walking and keeping fit and is a regular race goer.

Kristen joined the firm in 2024 and provides administrative support across all probate matters, ensuring files are managed accurately and efficiently while supporting fee earners throughout the probate process. Kristen is highly organised, detail-oriented, and experienced in handling sensitive information with professionalism and care.

Outside of work, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family and making the most of the outdoors, particularly going camping whenever she gets the chance.

Formerly known as Antony A Holmes Solicitors the firm was set up in November 1989 by Antony Holmes, a sole practitioner. Kate Perry joined the practice as a Trainee Legal Executive in April 2001. Kate became a Partner and head of the Private Client Department in 2010. In September 2012 Antony Holmes retired from the practice and Kate became the Managing Director of the firm.

In 2023 the firm became a specialist practice in Private Client matters. Antony Holmes rejoined the firm as a Director and Emma Kearsey joined the firm as a Director of Operational Services. In 2021 Emma qualified as a Professional Will Writer.
